About Me

My
Story

When I'm asked to talk about myself, the answer usually starts with "It's complicated." I'm blessed to have family all over the world, and seeing them allowed me to expand my horizons early on. I was raised by a single mother in New York City, a Mexican immigrant, and my father is the son of Greek immigrants who fled civil war in their homeland - roots that taught me how directly international politics impacts people's lives. Journalism is not only the essential vehicle for awareness, but the essential response that I have always worked to be a part of.

I know that no single issue exists on its own, but within a broader context of nuanced local, domestic, and international interactions. My experiences have broadened my own horizons through travel, opportunities that have allowed me to meet new people all over the world. Altogether, they have contributed to a passion for political science on an international scale, an interest that consistently leads my learning and perception of the world.

In my free time, I lead Northwestern's Model United Nations Travel Team (nationally ranked at 24th!) as one of the Head Delegates and read as many novels as I have time for.  I can usually be found trying out a coffee shop, exploring an art museum, or indulging in Deering Library.
